Greg Davie joins in on the WCDO Sports Blog!

Hello local sports fans!  This is my first venture into the world of blogging.  However, with my return to calling high school basketball on WCDO, it seemed like the perfect time to start.

The 2012-13 HS hoops season looks good for a few of our local teams. Namely, Harpursville’s tough girls team, who are trying to get back to the NYS tournament with a Class C victory that eluded them in March, losing to Elmira Notre Dame in an exciting game at the Arena. Unatego, with all starters back and Unadilla Valley who return most of theirs, stand the best chance to upend the Lady Hornets for the MAC.  For the boys, Sidney is on paper the best team, but with a key injury to Damian Zimmer (he is aiming to return before season’s end) the league title is up for grabs, Could it be Unatego, last year’s best? B-G – with four returning starters – is off to a 3-0 start. Perhaps there is a sleeper like Oxford or Greene.

December always brings hope for all teams, but by the end of the holiday season, we should know who are the primary teams.

So I welcome comments to be made on the discussion board…and not just about local sports. I enjoy discussing sports at all levels. And I will blog after most games we broadcast. This should be fun!
