Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 39 year old Jason Rude of Sidney as a Fugitive from Justice from South Carolina. Rude has been wanted for Violation of Probation since a Warrant of Arrest was issued in 2011. Rude was arraigned in the Delhi Town Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending further Extradition proceedings.

The State Attorney General’s office, along with the Attorneys General of 49 other states, the FTC, and the FCC, reached a $105 million settlement with AT&T Mobility LLC. The settlement resolves allegations that AT&T Mobility placed on consumers’ mobile telephone bills, charges for third-party services that had not been authorized by consumers, a practice known as “cramming.” The settlement requires AT&T Mobility to pay $20 million to states, including $572,960 to the State of New York and $80 million to the FTC to pay restitution to consumers. The settlement also requires AT&T Mobility to take steps to ensure it bills consumers only for third-party charges that have been authorized

Broome County legislator Anthony Fiala was arraigned in Binghamton City Court Thursday morning for DWI following a crash with a bicyclist on October 2nd. Fiala allegedly hit a bicyclist with his vehicle and left the scene, he refused a breathalyzer test. Fiala pleaded guilty Thursday morning, he was given a conditional discharge for one year. Fiala’s driver’s license was revoked for six months and he was ordered to install an interlock device in his vehicle, he was also ordered to pay a $500 fine & a court surcharge of $395.
