State Police are continuing with their beefed up Thanksgiving Holiday patrols, during one of the busiest travel times on the state’s highways. Police will have sobriety checkpoints and roving DWI patrols, as well as the “Operation Hang-up” initiative, to apprehend drivers talking on the phone or texting.

Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holiday tomorrow, which encourages holiday shoppers to patronize local businesses that are small and local. Sidney Chamber of Commerce president Kerri Green comments:

Small Business Saturday organizers encourages consumers to commit to spending $50 of their current monthly budgets with independently owned small businesses in their local communities to help expand their local economies & tax base.

The Oxford Village annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held this Sunday, November 25th at 5:00 PM at the Village bandstand. This year’s tree is a 12 foot evergreen, the ceremony will featured at OxfordNY.com.
