The Broome County Sheriff’s Office investigates an armed robbery at the Sunoco station on Chenango Street in the town of Fenton last night.  Deputies responded to the Report of an armed robbery at 11:00 PM, where a man entered the store, pulled a knife on a clerk and left with an unknown amount of cash. The man is described as approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a gray hoodie, black ski mask, sunglasses and black pants, he left on foot in an unknown direction.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detectives at 778-2053.

The Chenango County Sheriffs Department responded to a tractor-trailer accident on state route 8 in the town of Norwich.  Deputies reported that 30-year-old Joshua Schaller of Edwardsville Pennsylvania lost control, left the roadway & overturned, spilling food items into a cornfield.  Schaller was taken to Chenango memorial hospital for the treatment of minor injuries; the cause of the accident is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is holding a “Communities That Care” Blood drive in Norwich today.  Today’s Blood Drive will run from 12:00 noon until 7:00 PM at the Howard Johnson Hotel at 75 North Broad Street.   The Red Cross is asking eligible blood donors of all blood types to donate blood during the winter months to strengthen the community’s blood supply.
