Delaware County Sheriff Thomas Mills announced that due to the current winter storm warning, a travel advisory has been issued for all of Delaware County until further notice.  All unnecessary travel should be avoided.

The Joint Landowners Coalition of New York will file its lawsuit against New York State today, The action seeks an Order: Compelling the DEC to finalize the environmental impact statement on hydrofracking, Determining that the DEC referral of the statement to the health department was arbitrary and capricious, & that Governor Cuomo is acting without jurisdiction by orchestrating the delay and interfering with the DEC’s independent decision-making authority.  The Coalition is represented by Mountain States Legal Foundation and Levene Gouldin & Thompson.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 27-year-old Ashley Hoyt of Meridale on 1count of 2nd degree Aggravated Harassment for allegedly making numerous unwanted phone calls and text messages to another person.   Hoyt was issued a criminal summons ordering her appearance at the Town of Delhi Court on March 4th

A Valentine’s Day dinner fundraiser will be held at the rendezvous lounge in Afton, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM tonight.  Money raised at tonight’s event will benefit Mollianna’s mission.

The Sidney Moose Club will be holding a benefit Saturday in honor of the late Bill Ray.  The event will be held at the Moose Lodge tomorrow from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Proceeds will go for Bill’s medical expenses and for the Bill Ray Little League Baseball Field in Sidney. more information is available at 435-1007.
