Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 57-year-old James Winfield of Franklin for 3 counts of 4th degree Grand Larceny.   Winfield is accused of using a credit card that did not belong to him and purchased items at a Franklin business; he was arraigned sent to the Delaware County Jail on 250 cash bail or $500 bond pending action in Franklin Town Court at a later date.

State Police arrested 2 subjects following a reported burglary to the South Kortright Central School on July 6th.  Troopers responded to the school alarm, 2 male subjects were seen fleeing into a wooded area.  17 year old Chandler Gual & 17 year old Kenneth Adams of Hobart were charged with 3rd degree Burglary, for allegedly stealing a computer, they were arraigned and were released on their own recognizance, they face court action on July 23rd.

Governor Cuomo announced that $2.75 million has been awarded under New York’s College Access Challenge Grant Program to help low-income students across the State enter and complete college. The services will be offered largely through community-based, not-for-profit organizations and will assist 24,655 students and families statewide.   Binghamton City School District will conduct five tours with 20 low-income students on each trip. Students will visit several schools, including SUNY colleges in Oneonta & Delhi among others.  Information is available at HESC.ny.gov/CACG.

The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 57-year-old Marcelino Otero of McDonough for 4th degree Criminal Mischief.  Otero is accused of damaging the victim’s cell phone who was attempting call police for assistance during a domestic dispute.  Otero faces court action shortly.
