A.M. NEWS MONDAY 4-27-15

State Police executed search warrants at 105 Chaseville Road, Maryland, and 15 Main Street Schenevus, Friday. Seized during the search warrant was cocaine, marihuana, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, .22 caliber revolver, and $8,100 in cash. State Police charged 52 year old Frederick Hubbard, of Maryland, with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia & Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Also arrested was 23 year old Joseph Herr, of Schenevus, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Both were arraigned and remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail.

30 year old Kyle Whitfield pleaded guilty last month to stabbing and killing 33 year old James Button of Greene in March 2014. Whitfield was sentenced under the terms of a plea deal in Chenango County Court; he will serve 5 years in prison for manslaughter with 5 years post-release supervision.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputies & Probation Officers searched a Trout Creek resident last Thursday, 40 year old Brad Stafford, and 31 year old Chad Stafford are accused of possessing hunting rifles and ammunition, they are prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of their previous convictions. Brad Stafford and Chad Stafford were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon & Violation of Probation; they were arraigned & were remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending further court action.
