Chenango county sheriff’s deputies arrested 2 Norwich area youths for 2nd degree Burglary, 5th degree Conspiracy & Criminal Mischief. The arrests followed an investigation into a residential burglary in the Town of Norwich in which the subjects allegedly forced their way into the victim’s residence and stole items inside. Both subjects were issued Juvenile Appearance Tickets and will appear in Chenango County Probation at a later date. Both subjects were turned over to the custody of their parents.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34 year old Neil Freidel of Norwich for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest followed an investigation of a 1 car motor vehicle accident on Reservoir Hill Road in the Town of Plymouth. Friedel was released on an appearance ticket for a later court date. The accident is still under investigation.
Assemblyman Cliff Crouch will be hosting an informational forum on the NY SAFE Act with Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting, Jr., Chenango County Clerk Mary Weidman and SCOPE President Steve Aldstadt on May 2nd. The event will begin at 7:00 PM at the Oxford Rod and Gun Club at 214 Ingraham Road, Oxford. The meeting is open to the public.
State Troopers arrested 51 year old David Nelson of Downsville, for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 30 in the town of Colchester; Nelson was issued Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of Colchester Court on May 14th.
