State Senator Thomas Libous of Binghamton confirmed that the prostate cancer he’s been battling has spread.  Libous has been undergoing cancer treatment since 2009 and another round of chemotherapy is planned.  Libous said he has Not Made a decision as to whether he’ll seek another term next year.

State troopers arrested 27-year-old John Barbieri of Los Angeles, California for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .14%. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop in the Town of Chenango; Barbieri was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Chenango Court on July 10th.

The Chenango county public health department announced 2 free rabies clinics today for dogs, cats  & domesticated ferrets.   Today’s clinics will be held at the Greene Fire Station from 5:00 to 6:30 and at the Sherburne Fire station from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.

Chenango county sheriff’s deputies arrested 33-year-old Bernard Blinebry of Norwich on an active bench warrant for failure to appear in Norwich city court for the charge of 5th degree welfare fraud.   Blinebry was remanded to the Chenango county Jail on $500 cash bail pending future court action.

The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School will hold a Board of Education Meeting today in the District Conference Room at 6:30 PM to discuss district business. The business portion of the meeting will start at 7:30 PM.
