A.M. NEWS THURSDAY 9-12-13

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a no knock search warrant at 118 Meadow Lane in the Town of New Berlin. During the search, crack cocaine was seized along with cash, packaging material, and paraphernalia.  Jessica and Alan Crisell were both charged with the Class E Felony of Criminal Nuisance, for maintaining premises for the unlawful sale of controlled substances. Jessica Crisell was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument.  Dequay Shoulders of Syracuse, was charged Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell and Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, he was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $15,000 cash bail, pending action in the Town of New Berlin Court at a later date.

NYSEG REPORTS ABOUT 2000 customers without power this morning, following yesterday’s storms.  About 1500 of those without power are in Delaware County, NYSEG crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.

The State DOT announced that, crews will be conducting precision rock excavation operations at the Prospect Street Connector today & tomorrow between 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM. State Police will administer rolling slow-downs throughout the project, with area exit & entrance ramps closed for 15 minutes intervals. Flag personnel will also control traffic local side streets.

State Police at Oneonta arrested 29-year-old Zachary Simeon of Albany for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The arrest resulted from a vehicle and traffic law stop for speeding on Interstate 88 in Otego; Simeon was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Otego Court on September 19th.
