Ganesh Ramsaran appeared in Chenango County Court yesterday, seeking to change his attorneys.  Ramsaran claimed that one of his 2 attorneys has been chronically ill, and the other attorney is not diligent, the attorneys claim that Ramsaran has not paid over $70,000 in legal fees.  Ramsaran faces a 2nd Degree murder charge in connection with the death of his wife Jennifer in December 2012. Her body was identified last February in a wooded area in the Town of Pharsalia.

Governor Cuomo announced the formation of the Strategic Interagency Task Force on Lessening Obstacles to Agriculture to address barriers to the growth of New York’s agricultural economy. Task force members are from State government & agriculture, they will work to ensure that State agencies that deal with farmers are communicating regularly, efficiently, and lessening regulations.  New York is 1st in yogurt production, 3rd in milk production, 2nd for apple production, 1st for cabbage production, 2nd in maple production, and 3rd in wine and grape juice production.

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston announced Monday, that Maines Paper & Food Service has won the name rights for the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.  Broome Ciyunty Deputy Executive Bijoy Datta explains:

The County owned facility will now be called the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

Delaware County District Attorney’s Investigators arrested Jesse Wilson and Samone VanBuren, both of Davenport for one count each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. Wilson & VanBuren were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Davenport Town Court at a later date.
