GOVERNOR CUOMO has directed state agencies, including the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, State Police, the MTA and the Port Authority, to be on a heightened state of alert after yesterday’s bombing at the finish line at the Boston Marathon.  The New York National Guard is on hand to assist with emergency response in Boston to work with local authorities.

The Oneonta planning commission meeting for this week has been cancelled, after a review by Delaware Engineering of the controversial Hillside Commons development found the application to be incomplete.  Engineers requested information regarding fire equipment access, environmental studies and property access before any plans would be submitted to the Planning commission.

Commerce Chenango Is Hosting THEIR NEXT “business After Hours Event today.  The event will be held at the NORWICH CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  Members of the chamber are encouraged to attend, and enter through the front doors on Midland Drive

A Tuscan Italian feast fundraiser will be held on Saturday April 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Sidney VFW, to benefit the Delaware valley humane society.  The cost will be $10.00 per person; children under 5 will eat free.  A Chinese auction is also scheduled.
