A.M. NEWS TUESDAY 5-21-13

School district budget votes will be held today throughout the state, with many of the districts also voting on school board seats.  Most of the area school district are proposing budgets that come in at or under the state’s 2% Property tax cap. Locally, Bainbridge Guilford, Charlotte Valley, Franklin, Laurens, Milford, Norwich, Oneonta, & Walton are asking residents to pass budgets With tax levy increases of more than 2% above last year.

UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital will be presenting a free Diabetes information program at the Sidney civic center today.  Registration begins at 5:00 PM; the presentation will begin at 5:30.  More information is available at uhs.net or at 337-4040.

The Oneonta common council will hold their next regular meeting today at city hall.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the 2nd floor common council chambers.
