Governor Cuomo was presented with the final report of the New York State Tax Reform and Fairness Commission, which outlines options to modernize the current tax system. Cuomo called on former state Comptroller Carl McCall and former Governor George Pataki to serve on the Commission:

The report suggests modernizing the sales tax while funding low- and middle-income tax relief, modifies the estate tax, reforms the state’s corporate and bank franchise taxes & reviews best practices to make the system more equitable for local governments, businesses and homeowners. Governor Cuomo will consider the Tax Relief Commission’s recommendations for including in the next state budget.

The New Berlin Police Department is investigating the disappearance of a 45-year-old Danny Reimers, who has been missing since November 7th. Reimers is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds and has a dark complexion. Anyone with information is asked to call New Berlin police at 847- 8900.

The New York State Office of General Services announced that surplus vehicle and highway equipment auctions start today at 9:30 AM at the State DOT facility at 241 Colesville Road in Binghamton. the 2nd auction this week will be tomorrow in Sidney at 9:30 AM at the State Police Troop C Headquarters on State Route 7.
