Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 19-year-old Gregory Nielson Of Port Jefferson on charges of 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, following the execution of a Search Warrant at SUNY Delhi by members of the Delaware County deputies, the County Probation Department and Delhi Police.  Nielsen is accused of possessing cocaine with intent to sell; additional charges will be filed at a later time.  Police confiscated cocaine, marihuana, digital scales and cash were seized.  Nielsen was arraigned in the Town of Delhi Court and remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bail bond pending further court action.

Work is continuing on the annual state budget plan.  Area assemblyman Bill Magee said that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are looking to restore cuts that governor Cuomo made to the education portion of the budget:

Lawmakers may have a budget plan completed as early as March 22nd, a full 10 days before the annual deadline.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 73-year-old Henry Hemsley of Norwich for Petit Larceny, after he was apprehended by Norwich Wal-Mart security.  Hemsley was arraigned in the Town of Guilford Court & was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.  He is to reappear in the Town of Norwich Court at a later date.
