Oneonta Police & the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department served   search warrants at 195 Main Street and 75 River Street in Oneonta as part of a narcotics investigation. Charged were 35 year old Jason Sanders, 17 year old Kris Baynes, 35 year old Tanyette Bassknight & 19 year old Alicia Anderson on a variety of drug charges. Also arrested were 23 year old James Vanderkrake, for Robbery & assault, 26 year old Rex Jordan Jr, for endangering the welfare of a child, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument & Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, & 24 year old Patricia Dean, for endangering the Welfare of a Child. Police confiscated heroin, scales, hypodermic instruments, cash and drug packaging materials, in the presence of children under 16. The investigation is continuing.

Oneonta Police served a search warrant at 381 Chestnut Street, following an investigation into illegal drug activity. Arrested was 24 year old Daniel Pizzurro on a variety of drug charges. Pizzurro was arraigned in the Town of Oneonta Court and remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

State Senator Jim Seward will be hosting a free heroin/opioid overdose prevention training class today at the Fox Care Center in Oneonta. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and an emergency resuscitation kit that includes Narcan. The class will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wellness Conference Room, FoxCare Center in Oneonta.

The Otsego County Planning Department will host the 2nd of 2 training classes today, at the Meadows Office Complex, County Highway 33W next to the County Public Safety building. Tonight’s sessions will be about the Flood Insurance Program, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
