The Annual Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump was held Saturday and was a rousing success, according to organizer Brenda Waters:

The Coventry Fire Department’s EMS unit is holding classes in the coming weeks, as they try to get more people involved, Spokesman Kyle Button told WCDO News that they have free classes coming up on March 17th for those interested in the basics of life saving techniques:

Congressman Marc Molinaro & House Speaker Mike Johnson will meet Thursday at 1:00pm at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office in Binghamton. Speaker Johnson and Congressman Molinaro will meet with Broome County Sheriff’s deputies, law enforcement from neighboring departments, local emergency responders, they will discuss public safety issues and funding for law enforcement.

The case of Ganesh “Remy” Ramsaran will go national this Friday Night on NBC’s Dateline. Ramsaran pleaded guilty last year to a reduced charge of Manslaughter for the 2012 killing of his wife Jennifer Ramsaran. The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43 year old Brian Boore of Oneonta following the investigation into a complaint at the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Boore was charged with 3rd & 4th degree Criminal Mischief, he is accused of intentionally damaging property at the Sheriff’s Office property, he was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing into the death of 38 year old Connie Manwarren of Otselic, who was found deceased on February 10 at the side of a road. State Police are waiting for the results of an autopsy & the investigation is ongoing.

Binghamton Police are investigating after a man was found dead Saturday morning near State Route 363 and Exchange Street. Emergency Crews pronounced the man dead, Police announced that it was 29 year-old Tyler Beschorner of Binghamton who was found dead, anyone with information can call (607) 772-7080.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37 year old Joel Young of Burlington Flats for Attempted Assault, Criminal Mischief, & 2 counts of Harassment. Young is accused of Assaulting Corrections Officers while incarcerated at the Otsego County Jail, on January 20th, 1 officer was treated at Bassett hospital & was released, Young was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

State Police received a cybertip of child sexual abuse material that was uploaded to a mobile messaging application in November, An investigation determined that 31 year old Bethany Crispell of Smithville, used a mobile messaging application to view and exchange child sexual materials. Crispell was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child Under the Age of 17 and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, she was remanded to the Cortland County Correctional Facility and is due to appear in the Town of Smithville Court on February 6th.

3 murder suspects are in custody after a joint police operation between the U.S. Marshals, Southern Tier SWAT Team, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and the Endicott Police Department Wednesday night. U.S. Marshals Service notified Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies of 3 murder suspects possibly staying in Endicott, for a murder, robbery & Arson on January 20th in Norristown, Pennsylvania. A search warrant was obtained for 1104 Monroe Street in Endicott, the law enforcement agencies executed the search warrant & arrested 29 year old Daquan Allen, 18 year old Damon Brantley & 28 year old Jerry Butler, they were taken to the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility as fugitives from justice, where they were remanded, & are awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

Bainbridge Initiative is a group that started last summer, to try to deal with various issues facing Bainbridge & elsewhere, like substance abuse, homelessness & helping area youth making healthier choices. The Binghamton Police Department recognized Shaun Putrino from this week’s Broome County Sheriff’s Office Featured Warrant, and he was taken into custody. Putrino was wanted on a warrant for criminal mischief, Police located him on Rutherford Street in Binghamton and brought him into custody.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested John Williams of Edmeston following an accident investigation on January 5th in Edmeston. Williams was charged with Criminal Possession of a controlled substance, DWI, DWAI, failure to keep right, Moving from lane unsafely, Leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, Speed not reasonable and prudent, Williams was found in the Town of Pittsfield with a controlled substance later that day, he was issued an Appearance ticket

Delaware County Sheriff’s office announced that a Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrant issued by the Delaware County Grand Jury has resulted in the arrest of 43 year old Leslie McClenon of Walton. Deputies were contacted by Walton Police, after McClenon went to the Police Department for the issued arrest warrant, Deputies took McClenon into custody on 4 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Control Substance, 1 count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, she was taken to the Delaware County Correctional Facility where she was held pending the next Centralized arraignment session.

Utz Quality Foods issued a voluntary recall for Utz 2.75 ounce Wavy Original Potato Chips due to an undeclared milk allergen. The items in question had an expiration date is May 6, 2024. Delaware County Sheriff’s office announced the arrest 2 people for Criminal Mischief. On November 7th, Deputies received a complaint from the Town of Kortright Highway Department, Deputies were made aware of social media pictures of a male operating a pickup truck performing a “burn-out”, 19-year-old Deacon Phoenix of Walton did a “Burn-out” which caused damage to a Town of Kortright roadway. Phoenix and 43 year old Douglas Perrett of Delhi were both charged with Criminal Mischief, they were processed and released on Appearance Tickets for the Town of Kortright Court at a later date.

A.M. NEWS MONDAY 1-29-24

State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested 69 year old Francesco Baio of New Berlin for Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. An investigation revealed that on Sunday, January 21, Baio allegedly inappropriately touched a person under the age of 17. Baio was arrested and is due back at the New Berlin Town Court on February 14.

The Otsego County Sheriff’s office & Cooperstown Police are looking for 43 year old Matthew Sisson of Otego, Sisson left Bassett Hospital Friday, he may have a perforated appendix & was last seen walking on State route 28. He is described as a white male, 6’2″ medium build & bald, anyone with information should contact 911 or their local law enforcement. A search party was organized Sunday morning by law enforcement & family members.

Gergich was charged with DWI, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Open Container & Smoking Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle, he was arrested and later released on an Appearance ticket.
