Area Firefighters fought the blaze at 605 Glanville Hill-Hardscrabble Road for about 6 hours, the house was fully engulfed by the time fire fighters arrived after a passerby called it in. the cause of the fire has not yet been determined & the investigation is continuing.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Department announced that 17-year-old Ali Masland was found safe Thursday, the developmentally challenged teen had been reported missing from her residence in the Town of Chenango late Wednesday afternoon. No further details have been released.

Sidney Village Police arrested 19 year old Kayla Marie Hixon of Sidney Wednesday for criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal sale of marijuana & endangering the welfare of a minor. Hixon was arraigned & was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $25,000 cash of $50,000 bond pending future court action.

Rolfe was observed by Deputies to have been operating a motor vehicle, while his driving privileges were suspended in the State of New York. Rolfe was released on an appearance ticket and was scheduled to appear before the Town of Masonville Court at a later date.

The State DEC announced that early bear hunting season is open in northern New York, & this year it runs through October 12th. There are an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 wild bears in New York State, with most of them living in the Adirondacks and Catskills. The items have establishment number “EST 6785” & a lot number of 8213, and were sold in several state including New York & Pennsylvania, so far, no injuries have been reported. Assemblyman Cliff Crouch announced that the Harpursville School District will be receiving funding in the form of low-cost tax-exempt bonds to help support facility upgrades.
