Perry has been charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder & criminal possession of a weapon, in connection with the fatal shooting of his parents in the family home in the town of Laurens on December 12th. Perry remains held in the Otsego County jail without bail, Grand jury action is expected next Month.

Governor Cuomo unveiled another proposal that will be part of his 2018 State of the State, which is the plan to combat high local property taxes. The Governor proposes making the state’s countywide-shared services panels permanent. The panels have led counties to further consolidate services in order to cut costs at the county levels, so far, 34 counties submitted nearly 400 projects with more than $200 million in savings. Governor Cuomo proposed that County Governments pool employee health plans into combined healthcare groupings, to increase the buying power which should lead to lower costs, save local tax dollars, and not affect employee’s plans.

The State DEC announced that the New York State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act has driven the collection and recycling of more than 520 million pounds; or 260,000 tons of electronic waste from 2011 to 2016. The announcement was highlighted in DEC’s second Electronic Waste Recycling Report, which documents e-waste recycling from 2013 to 2015. The e-waste reports are available on DEC’s website dec.ny.gov/chemical.

State Police announced that State Trooper Joseph Gallagher was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle while assisting a disabled motorist at the on-ramp of a Long Island Highway on Monday. Trooper Gallagher is assigned to Troop L in Brentwood in Nassau County, and he has been a member of the State Police since 2014. Trooper Gallagher was taken to an area hospital & underwent emergency surgery, he was lsited in Critical condition.

A Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for several NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law violations on Friday on State Route 79 in the Town of Fenton. 28 year old Deanna Olmstead of Windsor was arrested for felony DWI, Aggravated DWI, Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle driving without an interlock device and several other charges. Olmstead was arraigned in the Town of Fenton Court and remanded to the Broome County Sheriffs Jail pending additional court action.

Those eligible for Paid Family Leave include: Parents during the first 12 months following the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child; Caretakers for a sick spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, grandparent or grandchild; Employees with a spouse, child, domestic partner or parent who has been notified of an order of active military service abroad. Senator Seward voted against the NY-SAFE act and is supporting legislation to repeal the law.  Seward said that he supports laws to crack down on those who obtain guns illegally and commit crimes with firearms and he supports regulations to prevent the dangerously mentally ill access to guns.

Oneonta city police arrested 27-year-old Heather Ferris of Schenevus on charges of 2nd degree attempted assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, for allegedly striking a 5 year old student on an Oneonta school district bus with a buckle Thursday morning.  Ferris was fired after the incident by the Birnie Bus Company, which is contracted to provide bus service for the Oneonta city school district.  The investigation is continuing.

Marcus sad that the centers mentioned served over 10,000 clients last year regarding women’s health issues such as gynecological exams, sexual education, and HIV testing.

State Troopers arrested 23-year-old Deanna Olmstead of Windsor for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .19%. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident on State Route 17; Olmstead was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Kirkwood Court on March 7th.

The Delaware County Sheriffs Deputies were called to a 1 Car Personal Injury automobile accident on Road Thirteen in the Town of Sidney. 52-year-old Niki Frantzis of Sidney was traveling south on Road 13 when she lost control and struck an earth embankment. Frantzis & an unidentified passenger were taken to Tri-Town Hospital in Sidney; Frantzis was issued a summons for speed unreasonable for road conditions.

24 people will be inducted into the Section 4 Hall of fame tomorrow, included in that group, as a contributor is WCDO’s own sportscaster Greg Davie, who has broadcast sports since the early days of WCDO in the 80’s.  The inductions will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Broome County Arena at about 3:00 PM.
