In Delaware County:

In the town of Sidney, Republican Gene Pigford wins the Supervisor position; winning town council seats were Democratic incumbent Pete Cordes, & Republican John Woodyshek

In the Town of Franklin, Republicans David Grant & Garrett Sitts win board seats,

In the Town of Masonville, Republican Michael Spaccaforno is re-elected Supervisor. Steven Roff and Betty Scott are elected to the town board.

In the town of Davenport, Dennis Valente was re-elected as supervisor. Republicans kitty Ballard and William Hansen won town board seats.

In deposit, Victor Davis and Carl Clark win town board seats,

In the town of Meredith: James Ellis is the new Supervisor,

In Otsego County:

Dan Crowell wins the election for county treasurer,

2 seats on the Town of Oneonta board were won by democrats Patricia Jacob & Andrew Stammell. Republicans Sean Farrell & Bruce Smith won the 2 town justice seats.

In the Town of Unadilla, Republicans Roger Cecce, George Banta, won 2 seats on the town Council

In the Town Of Butternuts, the supervisor is Charles Eckleman

The Otego town supervisor is Joseph Hurlburt.

 

 

In Chenango County,

In the Town of Afton, Republicans Robert Tallmadge, and Chris Warren win seats on the town board,

In the Town Of Guilford, for the 2 seats on the Town Council; Republicans Tomas Ives & Barbara O’Dell win.

In New Berlin, Robert Star is the supervisor, Wendy Rifanburg & John Parks are the winners for town board seats.

In the town of Oxford Lawrence Wilcox is the supervisor; Ronald Charles and John Hoffman win board seats.

In the Town of Coventry, the Supervisor is George Westcott, for Town Justice, Republican Joseph Agunzo wins

On the Town Council, Republicans Robert Boudreau & John Wicks win 2 seats on the board.

Some of these results could change pending the counting of absentee ballots.

New York voters approved of 5 of the 6 propositions on the ballot yesterday.  Voters approved casino gambling, the only proposition to be voted down, would have raised the retirement age for certain judges to 80.

Binghamton police have identified the murder victim from Monday as 22 year old Jordan Dordell, who was Beaten, stabbed, bound, & set on fire, his 19 year old pregnant girlfriend was taken to Wilson Hospital where she is in critical condition, but is expected to survive.  25 year old Nigel Saunders and 21 year old Julian Talamantez were arraigned Tuesday on felony counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, they were sent to the Broome County jail without bail.

State police charged Davenport town supervisor, Dennis Valente with felony operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more.  Valente was arraigned in Davenport Town Court and was released, pending future court action on June 25th.

State police arrested 25 year old Jordan Finch of Bainbridge for 1st degree reckless endangerment, 1st degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing & 2nd degree harassment.  Finch faces court action on the charges shortly.

State Troopers in Oneonta arrested 18-year-old Justin Woznicki of Oneonta for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. The arrest was the result of a complaint originating at the Celtic Inn in Oneonta; Woznicki was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Oneonta Court on June 18th.

State police arrested 44-year-old Imre Szabo of Afton for possessing a sexual performance by a child.  Szabo is accused of possessing child sexual materials; he was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

Binghamton City police are searching for 37-year-old Levelle Marton of Binghamton on an arrest warrant for 2nd degree strangulation.   Martin is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 220 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Anyone with information can contact the Binghamton Police Warrant Division at 772-7044.

The American Red Cross announced that on June 17th at 5:30pm at Remliks in downtown Binghamton, the “Heroes for the American Red Cross” campaign will kick off. The campaign has businesses, school clubs, church groups, civic organizations and individuals pledge to raise at least $1,000 for the American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter, for disaster relief, assistance for fire victims, emergency military communications, first aid, CPR and other lifesaving classes.  More information is available at 785-7207.

US Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer announced that the village of Morris has received a Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant for $2,475,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Loan and Grant Program.  The funding will be for the construction of a new water storage tank, replace old water mains and install water meters.  The old water tank was well over 100 hundred years old.

The nonprofit Disabled American Veterans Mobile Service Office will be visiting various communities around the state in the coming weeks, to provide the counseling and claim filing assistance.  The Mobile Service Office is free to all veterans and members of their families, it will be in Oneonta on Thursday, June 27th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at DAV Oneonta Chapter #200, 279 Chestnut Street.
