The Body of 76-year-old James Andrews of Binghamton has been found in Silver Lake Township, Pennsylvania, his body was discovered on April 8 by members of the Binghamton Police Department, FBI Albany and the FBI. Andrews was reported missing to Binghamton Police in August 2019, His death is being investigated as a homicide. Investigators said the owners of the property where Andrews was discovered have cooperated with authorities and did not have knowledge that Andrew’s remains were at their property. Anyone with information is asked to contact Binghamton detectives at 607-772-7080.

The Sidney Arbor Day Celebration will return as a full scale event this year on Friday, April 29th at Keith Clark Park, Organizer Lorrie Roach explains:

State Department of Labor announced that the number of private sector jobs in the State increased over the month by 27,500 to 7.9 Million in March. New York State’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 4.9% to 4.6% in March.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30 year old Joseph Martino for allegedly unlawfully entering a Conklin business on April 12th. Martino was charged with burglary and criminal mischief and faces court action shortly.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for Dallas Tong on an outstanding warrant and is asking residents for assistance. As part of the State Budget passed last weekend, there were some changes to the controversial Bail Reform Legislation passed 2 years ago during the Cuomo Administration. Current Assemblyman & Former Norwich police Chief Joe Angelino told WCDO News that these updates will do very little to change the current atmosphere:

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the retirement of his Undersheriff Timothy Buckley, effective May 21nd. Sergeant Kim Smith, a 25-year member of the Sheriff’s Office, will be appointed the next Undersheriff of Delaware County. Undersheriff Buckley initiated his Law Enforcement Career in 1996 working for various municipal Police Departments in Delaware and Chenango Counties.

Delaware County Chamber of Commerce President Ray Pucci defended accusations made against him & The Chamber today on the WCDO Morning show, that were made at the Delaware County Board of Supervisors meeting in Delhi, where he was accused of withholding financial statements to the Board, they have removed the Chamber as the County’s Official Tourism agency & passed that responsibility over the Delaware County Department of Economic Development:

Pucci said that the chamber will continue with its other programs for its 300 members businesses, plus the annual Toys for Tots campaign, and trying to solve the issue of transportation for county residents to County jobs, more information is available at delawarecounty.org.

Delaware County Board of Supervisors Chairperson Tina Mole announced today that the County will not reallocate resources to enforce the newest New York State mask mandate that took effect on Monday. Mole stated that Delaware County does not have the internal framework to enforce this mandate, but businesses have oversight from other state agencies, such as Agriculture and Markets or other professional licensing boards, which may enforce the Mask newest mandate. County residents are asked to follow the mandate in business following the mandate lease, pleases wear masks in public spaces, get vaccinated and continue to be diligent with social distancing and hand washing practices. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Town of Hamden last Tuesday for an equipment violation. 53 year-old Lisamichelle LaLonde, of Morris, was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended New York driver’s license, due to a previous insurance lapse. LaLonde was later issued traffic tickets for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, Unlicensed Operator, and Insufficient Brake Lamps. LaLonde is scheduled to appear before the Town of Hamden Court at a later date to answer the charges.

As a result of low blood donor turnout in recent months, the Red Cross is heading into the holidays with its lowest blood supply in more than a decade at this time of year. Blood donations are desperately needed now to meet the needs of accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. Delaware County Public Health reported another COVID 19 Death, bringing their number up to 81. The report covers Saturday through Monday, with 64 new cases, 321 active cases, 12 hospitalized & 379 in Quarantine, the positivity rate was at 9.5%. 54.1% of Delaware County residents are vaccinated.

Miller said that DTC Representatives will be hosting a Meet & Greet with the Sidney center Fire Department Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00 PM, as their services are available in Sidney Center.

State Police arrested 36 year old Joshua Brown of West Monroe, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Troopers responded to County Road 32 in the town of North Norwich for a 1-car accident, they located the vehicle in a corn field with Brown behind the wheel.  Brown was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.  An investigation yielded suspected concentrated cannabis, LSD, mushrooms and Marihuana wax.  Brown was arraigned in the town of Norwich court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26 year old Alexander Dietrich of Hawley, Pennsylvania for DWI and Driving with a BAC greater that 0.08%. The arrest occurred during the course of an investigation of a reported one car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 17 in the Town of Hancock.  Dietrich was arraigned in the Town of Hancock Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail or $1,000 dollars secured bond pending future court action.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Department arrested of a Town of Laurens man found to be in possession of contraband in the Otsego County Correctional Facility.  20 year old Dakota Coffey was charged with Introduction of Dangerous Contraband After he was found in possession of a vape pen containing THC oil hidden on his person while being processed into the Otsego County Jail and it was located later by staff after a search of his housing unit.  Coffey was arraigned in the Town of Hartwick Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
