Seniors who are interested in applying to get into the new Senior Apartments at the Sidney Civic center, need to begin the process. Sidney Grants Administrator John Redente explains:

The State Office of General Services announced a public auction for state-owned property located in Broome County at 362 and 372 Prospect Street in the town of Dickinson. The Auction will be conducted at 11:00 AM this morning, the 2 buildings on the two parcels are being auctioned together as a pair. The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 3 people and 4th degree Grand Larceny and 5th degree Conspiracy. Deputies responded to a Norwich business on March 3rd for a reported larceny in progress where 2 people left the business with TV’s without paying. Charged were James Bailey and Jody Spencer of Utica and Judy Bailey of Waterville. All 3 were arrested in the City of Utica on active arrest warrants issued by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. They were arraigned in the Town of Norwich court and remanded on cash bail, all face court actions shortly.

Broome county sheriffs deputies arrested 29-year-old Darren Scherer for driving while intoxicated in the Town of Chenango. Scherer’s BAC was more than twice the legal limit, he faces court action in the Town of Chenango Court at a later date.

Chenango county sheriffs deputies arrested 19-year-old Kirsten Tucker of North Norwich on charges of 4th degree Criminal Mischief and Reckless Endangerment. Tucker is accused of breaking a car window with a BB gun, she was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of North Norwich Court on a later date.

State DOT officials announced that bridgework would be performed today & Wednesday on Front Street in Binghamton between Bevier Street and Prospect Street. The work will be performed each day between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Motorists will encounter a right lane closure within the work zone.
