The suspect is accused of going through a vehicle while it was parked at Animal Adventure Park near Colesville on October 16 and taking money, credit cards and checks. The suspect’s picture was obtained when she attempted to cash a check using the victim’s identification at the NBT Bank in Syracuse. The Delaware County Board of Supervisors passed their 103 million dollar budget at their meeting Wednesday in Delhi. The tax levy increase was held to about 1.4%, the board also approved of forming the substance Abuse Prevention Task Force which will include members of several County Agencies to try to combat the ongoing Heroin & Opioid problem.

The Autopsy performed on 50 year old Wade Bostwick of Milford showed that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Bostwick was found dead in his home after firefighters responded to a fire at his Center Street Milford Address last Saturday afternoon.

The State Department of Taxation and Finance announced more than 62,000 payments worth more than $46.6 million have been made through its convenient Quick Pay application since the beginning of 2018. The free service provides individuals a way to promptly pay a tax bill or debt owed from an audit or collection case, or as part of an installment payment agreement. Demolitions of Derelict buildings in Sidney Center have begun this week. Sidney Town Supervisor Gene Pigford explains:

The race in the 22nd Congressional District is over, with Anthony Brindisi officially being called the winner, and outgoing Republican Claudia Tenney finally conceded the race yesterday. Brindisi has already been in Washington for orientation, Tenney leaves after serving only 1 term in Congress.

Auditors examined state Department of Health records from 2013 to Sept. 3th 2017 and identified 18,786 Medicaid recipients who received 208,198 prescriptions for opioids through Medicaid while also receiving opioids such as methadone, as part of a treatment program for opioid use disorder. DiNapoli recommended the Department of Health develop a report that can be used to notify treatment programs when I-STOP indicates recipients are receiving dangerous prescriptions; & to take steps to ensure Medicaid managed care organizations require reviews prior to dispensing opioids to recipients with opioid use disorder. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24 year old Kyle Gardner of Franklin for DWI, & Driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, following a 1-car accident in the Town of Franklin, where the vehicle was found to have travelled over an embankment. Gardner was subsequently released on an appearance ticket and scheduled to appear before the Town of Franklin Court at a later date.

Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig joined 50 mayors from across the State in Albany recently, to discuss the New York Conference of Mayors priorities for the 2019 Legislative Session. The mayors announced that the Creation of a Municipal Investment Initiative, Increase State Funding for Infrastructure & Allow Municipalities to be Compensated for the Cost of Providing Services to Large Tax Exempt Properties.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged 30 year old Stephen Tanner of Deposit for Criminal Contempt for allegedly violating of an order of protection issued by the Delaware County Family Court. Tanner was arraigned at the Village of Deposit Court, where he was later remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Faculty in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond. Tanner is set to appear in the Village of Deposit Court at a later date.

49 year old Wade Bostwick of Milford was found dead in his Center Street after Milford firefighters responded to smoke showing at his Center Street Home Saturday. Fire investigators believe that the fire started in a defective hot water heater in the basement, the fire was called in by Bostwick son. The Investigation is continuing.

State Senate Democrats announced that State Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins will be the first female leader of the Senate in State history. Stewart Cousins has been the Minority Leader since 2012; Democrats are taking over the State senate for the first time in over 8 years.
