The Otsego County Planning Department has scheduled 2 days in September for their annual household Hazardous Waste Collections. Planning Director Karen Sullivan explains:

Sullivan also said that the Otsego County Northern Transfer Station in Cooperstown will be closed for construction August 21st through September 30th. State Police arrested 35 year old Nathaniel Lavender of Hancock, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Speeding after a trooper stopped Lavender for speeding on Colesville Road in the town of Kirkwood. Lavendar had 15 suspensions on his license. Lavender was issued tickets returnable to the town of Kirkwood court on August 8, 2017.

Delaware County Sales tax revenues climbed 7% last year, and has already climbed 5.8% in the first half of 2017, as the County continues to be a tourist hot-spot for New York City residents, according to Delaware County Chamber President Ray Pucci:

Pucci said that downstate residents have actually extended their county visits as far West as Delhi, which has become increasingly busy on weekends. The Tax revenue increase figures were relased by the State Department of Taxation & Finance.

Binghamton Police arrested 36 year old Joshua Faulkner of Oxford on narcotics charges, plus criminal impersonation and resisting arrest. Faulkner was arrested by Police at Rutherford & Hawley Streets Thursday, he was remanded to Broome County Jail pending future court action.

32 year old Lola Luscomb of Oxford was arrested by Binghamton Police for felony narcotics charge and criminal impersonation at Hawley Street & Stuyvesant Street. She was remanded to Broome County Jail pending future court action.

More than 50 Hall of Famers are scheduled to be in Cooperstown to induct the Class of 2017 at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during Hall of Fame Weekend. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, honoring Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, Baseball Executive John Schuerholz and former Milwaukee Brewers Owner & Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, will be held Sunday at 1:30 PM at the Clark Sports Center.

The Sidney Center Improvement Group is having its annual “Your Lucky Day Auction” Fundraiser, on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Sidney Center Fire Department, spokesman Mile Sellitti explains.

38 Special will take the stage at Tioga Downs Casino tonight at 8:00 pm, sponsored by Casino Chairman Jeff Gural and his wife Paula. Originally, the benefit concert was scheduled Saturday, July 1st but cancelled due to inclement weather. Remaining tickets are on sale for $15 to the general public through Ticketmaster or at Tioga Downs Gift Shop. All additional $15 tickets will be matched personally by the Gurals, with all proceeds benefiting the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.
