A Delaware County Grand Jury handed down Sealed Indictments last Thursday relating to 4 separate narcotics trafficking investigations conducted by members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit. Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Deputies arrested 30-year-old Gregory Shamus of Delhi, 28-year-old Cody Warner of Trout Creek, 31-year-old Patrick Ford of Delancey, & 38-year-old Jennifer Fogliano of Masonville on Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrants on a variety drug charges. All of the defendants were arraigned today in Delaware County Court and were remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail pending further court action.

The Bainbridge Guilford Girls Volleyball Team won the New York state Class D Title this weekend in Glens Falls, with an exciting win over defending Champions Panama from Western New York. B-G Coach Tami Selfridge said that the team made school history with this win:

The Lady Bobcats were welcomed back to Bainbridge last night with a parade of fire trucks, Police cars & hundreds of fans who came out to celebrate with the girls. Coach Selfridge & the team thank the school & the entire communities for their support this season.

Governor Cuomo Announced a multi-agency enforcement initiative to target potentially illegal interstate charter and tour bus companies operating in the State to remove unsafe vehicles and drivers from the roads during the holiday season. The State DOT, DMV & State Police will increase the frequency of random roadside inspections of interstate charter and tour buses, their efforts have already resulted in 112 unsafe buses and 96 unqualified drivers being taken off the road after 1,115 roadside bus inspections performed since mid-September.

Governor Cuomo today announced that temporary lane closures associated with road and bridge construction projects on State highways will not be permitted from 6:00 AM Wednesday through 6:00 AM on Monday, in order to accommodate motorists during the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel week. Some work may continue behind permanent concrete barriers or for emergency repairs. The AAA predicts that nearly 51 million people nationwide will travel more than 50 miles from home for Sunday, and more than 89% of those will be driving.

State Police arrested 46-year-old Richard Talada of Oneonta for the felony DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Operating a Motor Vehicle without Interlock Device, and several other traffic violations. The arrest occurred after a traffic stop for a motorist failing to keep right on Ceperly Avenue in Oneonta. Talada refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content, he was arraigned in the town of Oneonta Court and was remanded to the Otsego County Jail with bail set at $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 property bond. His next court date in the town of Oneonta is on December 21, 2017.

Firefighters from several area Departments responded to a fully involved Structure Fire on county road 21 in the town of Franklin Saturday morning. Fire departments from Franklin, Walton, and Treadwell & Sidney responded, the structure was heavily damaged & the investigation by State Police is continuing.

The 2 missing babies from Cattaraugus County were found safe and 3 people were in custody Saturday. Suffolk County police say the 2 children, their mothers and another person were stopped by authorities on the Long Island Expressway, no charges will be filed for the 3 taken into custody. The Missing Child Alert went out around 9:30 a.m. Saturday when Salamanca police were notified that 3-month-old Malani Ventura and 29-day-old Londyn Richardson were missing. They were last seen with their mother’s 16-year-old Selena Ventura and 18-year-old Keshuana Boggs Saturday morning they had been living at the Zafron Home for Pregnant and Parenting Teens. The alert was canceled just before 1:00 PM Saturday.

State Police arrested 22-year-old Nathan McDonald of Sidney for DWI, & Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, after a traffic stop on State Route 7, in the town of Unadilla. An investigation determined that McDonald was driving while intoxicated, & an inventory of his vehicle found that he unlawfully possessed a small amount of marihuana. McDonald was issued tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla Court on November 27th.
