New York’s 29 members of the Electoral College have cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton today, who won the state’s popular vote, despite losing the presidential race to Republican Donald Trump in the expected final Electoral College tabulations, which will be completed today. The electors gathered today in the state Capitol’s Senate chambers.

State police arrested 19 year old Christopher Tuckett of Floral Park, Long Island on 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Reckless Driving and other traffic violations, after a trooper observed a vehicle speeding at 106 miles per hour, in a 65 miles an hour zone on I-88 in the Town of Otego Sunday. Tuckett was found to be illegally possessing prescription pills, he was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Otego Court on Thursday.

SUNY Delhi University Police reported that 21 year old Steven Sutliff was found in good health Friday afternoon by Oneonta City Police at the Huntington Library. Sutliff was reported missing on Tuesday after he left Delhi on December 10th for Oneonta and told roommates he would return Monday December 12th.

The Word of Life church pastor Tiffanie Irwin of New Hartford was sentenced to 12 years in prison. in connection with the beating of 2 boys during a church “counseling session” last year. 9 defendants who belonged to the Word of Life Church parish in Oneida County were charged for the beatings that killed 19-year-old Lucas Leonard and severely injured 17-year-old Christopher Leonard.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 33 year old Candis Gier, of Walton on 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, 2 counts of petty larceny, after an investigation into a report of a theft of prescription pills from a Walton residence. Gier was released on appearance tickets returnable to Walton Town Court at a later date.

Fire broke out a a trailer at lot 22 at 124 Oneida Street in Oneonta Sunday. fire fighters from Otego, West Oneonta & Oneonta responded, all occupants of the Wayman family escaped without injury. A space heater is believed to be the cause of the fire.
