State Police initiated a traffic stop on I-81, after a pursuit of a Kia Sorrento at Whitney Point, 5 suspects fled the vehicle on foot. The suspects were found to be in possession of multiple stolen credit cards and identifications for numerous people throughout the United States, they were also wanted for questioning in Oneida County, for suspected bank fraud. State Police arrested 18-year-old Denzel Sanon, 28-year-old Brandon Williams& 24-year-old Brandon Smith of Florida, for 7 counts each of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property; they were arraigned in the Town of Fenton Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail pending a bail hearing. State Police are still looking for the remaining 2 suspects who had fled the vehicle; they were seen outside a business in the Whitney Point, Anyone with any information is asked to contact the State Police at 775-1241.

Governor Cuomo on Friday announced the 5 applicants that will be awarded 2-year licenses to manufacture and distribute medical marijuana in New York State. Bloomfield Industries, Columbia Care NY, Empire State Health Solutions, Etain and PharmaCann scored highest. Empire State Health Solutions will grow in Fulton County and dispense locally in Johnson City in Broome County.

On Saturday night, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 55-year-old Penny Corns of Cooperstown for driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, operating with insufficient tail lamps, and moving from lane unsafely. The arrest followed a traffic stop on State Route 8 in the Town of Deposit. Corns was released on appearance tickets returnable to Deposit Town Court at a later date.

State Police & the Sidney Emergency squad responded to a 2-vehicle accident on state route 7 & Main Street at around 12:10 this afternoon. A full size SUV & a full size van collided; both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Investigation by State Police is continuing, WCDO News will have more details as they become available.

Governor Cuomo today announced that policies implemented following the Wine, Beer, Spirits and Cider Summits have saved New York distillers over $424,000 in fees over the past three years. These savings have been reinvested back into these small manufacturing businesses and encouraged new entrepreneurs to enter the market. In the last year alone, the number of farm distilleries has increased by more than 25 percent from 62 to 78. In 2011, New York had had only 10 such distilleries.

On Friday, Delaware County Deputies arrested 60 year old John Morton of Franklin for Aggravated unlicensed operation & Resisting Arrest in the Village of Walton. Morton is accused of passing through a safety checkpoint and refused to stop when as deputies instructed him, they discovered that Morton had his license suspended. Morton refused to comply with officers and and resisted arrest, he was arraigned in the Town of Hamden Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1,500 cash bail.

The next regular meeting of the Oneonta Parks & Recreation Committee will be held today. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at the common council chamber on he 2nd floor of Oneonta City Hall.
