Governor Cuomo today announced that the State Police and local law enforcement agencies would increase patrols to crack down on drunk and impaired driving this Halloween weekend. The special traffic enforcement detail will begin Friday & continue through Tuesday. Motorists can expect to see a number of sobriety checkpoints and additional patrols over the weekend. Troopers will also conduct a special enforcement detail to crack down on the sale of alcohol to minors.

On Thursday, November 3, a new team name for the Binghamton Double A baseball team will be unveiled at NYSEG Stadium. Fans voted on a new team name all season, the new name, logo and colors will be revealed in a ceremony on the field starting at Noon. The 6 names selected from a pool of over 1,500 fan submissions, are: the Bullheads, Gobblers, Rocking Horses, Rumble Ponies, Stud Muffins or Timber Jockeys. The Double-A Mets affiliate will open the 2017 season on the road in New Hampshire on April 6, the home opener at NYSEG Stadium will be on April 13th.

A Town of Pitcher resident was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office on an active arrest warrant for an allegedly Assault on October 1st. Deputies arrested 41 year old Clarence Brown of Pitcher for 1 count of assault, after Brown and another subject allegedly caused serious physical injury to a female victim in the Town of Lincklaen earlier this month, both face court action shortly.
