Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 29-year-old Heather Terry and 28-year-old Daniel Jamieson, both of Walton, on Friday, for criminal possession of controlled substance. Both are accused of possessing Heroin following a probation search of their Walton residence, both were arraigned & were remanded to the Delaware County Jail, Terry on $2,000 bail and Jamieson of $10,000 bail. Both will re appear at Walton Village Court at a later date.

The team formerly known as the Binghamton Mets will be known as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, following a season long survey of fans to rename the team under the new ownership. Team President Jim Hughes spoke at this morning’s announcement:

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies new team identity was revealed in front of 700 students, teachers and administrators at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School today in Binghamton, Carousel Silver, Fire Red and Binghamton Blue make up the club’s new official colors, paying tribute to Binghamton’s carousel heritage.

State Police reported 242 arrests for DWI during the Halloween Crackdown on impaired driving. The campaign ran from Friday and ended Tuesday, State Troopers issued 11,497 total tickets, including 4,342 for speeding, 322 for distracted driving, 333 for child restraint and seatbelt violations, and 176 for failing to “move over.” Additionally, Troopers investigated a total of 1,111 crashes, with 227 people injured, and 3 people were killed.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 20-year-old James Hannigan of Hobart Saturday, on 1count of driving while ability impaired by drugs following a traffic stop in the Town of Meredith. Hannigan is additionally charged with failure to keep right, unlawful possession of marijuana, he was released on tickets returnable to Meredith Town Court at a later date.

The State Department of Labor recovered nearly $3.45 million in fraudulently obtained Unemployment Insurance benefits during the first 10 months of 2016. In 2015, the office set a record, collecting over $3.7 million in restitution from 568 cases statewide. The amount collected to date in 2016, already up to 93% of the total amount collected in all of 2015 and an 8% increase over the same period last year.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 52-year-old John Coss, of Andes for falsely reporting an incident following an investigation into a 1-car motor vehicle accident on Rathbun Hill Road in the Town of Meredith. Deputies allege the defendant left the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a rental vehicle after striking a tree, and later reported the vehicle stolen in an attempt to evade criminal action. Coss was later released on an appearance tickets for Delhi & Meredith Town Courts at later dates.

the Bainbridge Town Board will hold a special meeting tomorrow morning at the Bainbridge Town Hall. The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM & will be open to the public.

State Police are attempting to locate an unknown white male for questioning relative to a burglary on October 19th at a home on Bassett Road in the Town of Triangle. The suspect was wearing a baseball cap & was observed on surveillance video, which can be viewed on the State Police Facebook Page. Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at 775-1241.

Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig announced a special meeting of the Oneonta Common Council tonight, for the purpose of discussing a new city budget. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM in the Common Council Chambers at City Hall.

The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School will hold a Board of Education Meeting on Today in the Guilford School Cafeteria at 6:30 PM. The business portion of the meeting will start at 7:00 PM.
