Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 38-year-old Cheryl Butler of Walton, Saturday for Felony DWI, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, & other charges. Deputies stopped Butler in the town of Delhi; she is accused of driving in an intoxicated condition with a 9-year-old passenger. Butler was arraigned at the Town of Delhi Court & was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1000 in secured bond pending future court action.

Governor Cuomo announced $59 million in funding through the Weatherization Assistance Program to help cut utility costs for approximately 9,200 income-eligible families and seniors across the state. Funds will be released to a statewide network of non-profit organizations to conduct energy-efficiency work including air sealing, insulation, upgrading heating systems, and diagnostic testing to identify hazards such as carbon monoxide and mold. 22-year-old Gerard Bourgeois of Morris will spend 6 months in jail & will serve probation, after he pleaded guilty in Otsego County Court to 2nd degree assault. Bourgeois was charged for hitting a 62-year-old mentally disabled man in the head with garden shears in 2016, causing head injuries.

Oneonta police arrested 22-year-old Marquis Cunningham of the Bronx for criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Cunningham is accused of having counterfeit $50 bills & driving with a suspended driver’s license, he was arraigned & was sent to the Otsego County jail on $2,500 cash bail; he was released on bail & will appear in court to answer to the charges shortly.

Oneonta Police arrested 2 people for criminal possession of a controlled substance Friday. 29-year- old Amber Typlt & 23-year-old Christopher Wellman are accused of possessing heroin, they were being held in Otsego County jail pending court action.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office investigated a 2-vehicle crash on South Canal Street in the Village of Oxford that shut down the road for about 4 hours at about 12:30 Monday afternoon. A Vehicle operated by Miranda Gifford of Rome veered into oncoming traffic & she struck a truck operated by Danny Hall of Barton. Gifford was extricated from her vehicle and airlifted to University Hospital in Syracuse by LifeNet. Hall and his passenger were uninjured. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, & the Chenango County Bureau of Fire, is investigating a fire at 108 County Road 21 in the Town of Plymouth that claimed the life of Plymouth Fire Chief Frank Fowlston Monday. The fire was reported at about 2:00 AM, it appeared to have started in the living room. Fowlston was discovered inside the residence, the autopsy was conducted at Lourdes Hospital, it was determined that Fowlston died of smoke inhalation. Fire Departments from Plymouth, Norwich, North Norwich, Smyrna, and Sherburne fought the blaze, the cause is still under investigation.

Delaware County Sheriff’s Department Investigators arrested 38-year-old Jennifer Fogliano of Masonville on a Bench Warrant from Village of Sidney Court for Failure to Appear on a Grand Larceny charge. When officers responded to Fogliano’s residence, occupants locked themselves in rooms and refused to comply. Officers eventually arrested Fogliano, 37-year-old Jarred Cutting of Masonville, 31-year-old Andrew Baker of Masonville, 22-year-old Ashley Murphy of Sidney Center for Obstructing Governmental Administration. Murphy is accused of possessing Methamphetamine, she was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. All were arraigned in the Town of Sidney Court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $1000 cash bail or $2000 bond. Foglianoa was also arraigned on the Bench Warrant on an additional $1000 cash bail or $2000 bond.

Delaware County Investigators arrested 29-year-old Alexander Griffin of Endicott on a Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrant alleging that GRIFFIN had been trafficking drugs in & around the Town of Deposit. Investigators made several controlled purchases of crack cocaine from GRIFFIN; the case was presented to a Delaware County Grand Jury that returned an Indictment, charging GRIFFIN with 3 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. GRIFFIN was located in Endicott and was arrested Thursday; he was transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await court action.

The Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council will be meeting today to oversee the Early Intervention Program. The Council’s meeting will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Ogden Free Library in Walton, more information is available at 832-5200. The mission of the Program is to enable the County’s infants and toddlers under the age of 3, who are disabled, developmentally delayed or at risk for disability and their families to access an appropriate array of services and supports to maximize his/her potential.
