State Police arrested 17-year-old Travis Bowee of Otsego for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief, Petty Larceny and Harassment, following the investigation of a domestic dispute. Bowee is accused of grabbing & pushing a victim while she was holding onto a baby, grabbing a cell phone & shattering a glass door. Bowee was arraigned in Town of Otsego Court & was remanded to the Otsego Count jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 property bond.

\nState Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos told reporters in Albany today that tremendous progress has been made with Governor Cuomo on an ethics reforms package. Skelos said that he expects ethics reform to be completed my march 31st, as part of the state budget package. Governor Cuomo has said that he would not sign the budget without the ethics reforms, following the arrest of former Speaker Sheldon Silver in February on corruption charges.

\n31-year-old Brendan Barrett appeared in Broome County Court today, he is accused of killing 18-month-old Camryn Davies of Harpursville on December 9th, 2013. Barrett was charged with 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, & 2 counts each of assault & endangering the welfare of a child, a bail hearing will be held tomorrow in Broome County Court.

\nThe 3rd Murder trial of Cal Harris is entering its 8th week in Schoharie County Court, with more witnesses still scheduled to be called. Harris was convicted twice before in Tioga county court for the murder of his estranged wife Michelle around September 11th of 2001. Harris’s attorney has requested mistrials 8 times during the course of this latest trial.

\nThe City of Oneonta Police Department is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles between Wednesday and the early this morning. The larcenies occurred on London Avenue, River Street, Luther Street, Burnside Avenue, Chestnut Street, Pearl Street, and Kearney Street. Police said that items taken included money & electronics, Police are also investigating a report of a stolen vehicle from the River Street area. Anyone with information is asked to call 432-1111. The investigation is continuing.

\nNew York State\u2019s private sector job count increased by 16,400, or 0.2% to over 7.75 million in February, a new all-time high. The statewide unemployment rate in New York was unchanged at 5.8% in February, according to preliminary figures released today by the New York State Department of Labor.

\nAgricultural leaders are hoping to see cuts restored to the state budget for agricultural programs; the governor’s original budget plan cut or eliminated funding for a variety of needed programs. Jeff Williams of the New York farm bureau said that farmers need these programs in order to maintain their status as a leader in production for many crops:<\/p>\n
