Sidney Village Police responded to the area of the McDonalds Friday for the report of a suspicious person, which led to the arrest of 30 year old Salvatore Gallo of Sidney.\u00a0 Gallo was charged with trespassing, unlawful possession of marijuana, obstructing governmental administration & criminal possession of a controlled substance, he was arraigned & was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 Cash Bail or $20,000 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Department arrested 32 year old\nStephanie Shulgay of Worcester, on grand Larceny Charges, she is accused of\nusing a credit card & debits cards belonging to a family where she was a\nhome health aide. Shulgay was arraigned\nin Otsego County Court, the investigation is still ongoing & more charges\nmay be filed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Sienna Poll has been released as the state legislature\ngets ready to end the 2019 session. \nPolled Voters approve of legalizing recreational marijuana 55% to 40%;\nthey disapprove of a measure for Driver\u2019s Licenses for Undocumented aliens with\n41% in favor & 53% against, they support mandatory Vaccinations by an 84%\nto 13% margin. Governor Cuomo\u2019s\nFavorability was up to 52%, but disapprove of Cuomo seeking a 4th term as\nGovernor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state’s Gaming Commission approved regulations to permit\nsports wagering at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, Rivers Casino and\nResort in Schenectady, Tioga Downs in the Southern Tier and Del Lago Resort and\nCasino in the Finger Lakes. Sports\u2019\nbetting is not expected to start until later this summer after the facilities\nreceive their wagering licenses. The\nstate’s tribal casinos also plan to allow wagers too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo reminded New\nYorkers today that state investigators will again crack down on underage\ndrinking and the use of fake IDs to purchase alcohol at summer concerts and at\nbars this season. Investigators from the DMV, State Liquor Authority, State\nParks Police and local law enforcement will conduct enforcement sweeps at\nvenues across the state as part of the Operation Prevent campaign. In April and May, investigators issued 139\ntickets, Patrons under the age of 21\nfound to be using fake IDs to buy alcohol can be ticketed and risk having their\nlicense revoked for a minimum of 90 days or up to 1 year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
State Police have arrested 25-year-old Cody Franciscovich of\nOwego for 1st degree murder in connection with the death of his 8-month-old\ndaughter Ruby. Tioga County 911 received\na call to check the welfare of Ruby Sunday Morning, near the Deep Well Motel on\nRoute 17C in the town of Tioga. \nResponding troopers located the infant in a pond after interviewing Cody\nFranciscovich, she was taken to Wilson\nHospital in Johnson City where she was pronounced deceased. Cody Franciscovich was arraigned and remanded\nto the Tioga County Jail on no bail. He\nis set to appear in the town of Tioga court tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 22-year-old\nDavid Mordechay of Brooklyn, for aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while\nintoxicated, unlicensed operator, operating without a seatbelt, failure to keep\nright, and leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident. The arrest followed an investigation into a\nmotor vehicle accident. Mordechay was arraigned in Delhi Town Court,\nand was remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000\nbond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watkins Glen International will no longer be hosting the\n50th anniversary Woodstock music festival on August 16th through the 18th. Officials from the racetrack issued a\nstatement Monday afternoon that read, “Watkins Glen International\nterminated the site license for Woodstock pursuant to provisions of the\ncontract.
