Ernest Franklin of Guilford was sentenced in Chenango County\nCourt Monday, to 21 years to life in state prison, for the murder of his\nadopted and disabled teen son Jeffrey, and starting a fire at the family home\nto cover it up, in February of 2017. \nFranklin planned the murder with his wife, Heather Franklin, who\naccepted a guilty plea to manslaughter; she has not been sentenced for her role\nin the murder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police arrested 36 year old Joshua Brown of West\nMonroe, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While\nAbility Impaired by Drugs. Troopers responded to County Road 32 in the town of\nNorth Norwich for a 1-car accident, they located the vehicle in a corn field\nwith Brown behind the wheel. Brown was\ntransported to Chenango Memorial Hospital for an evaluation. An investigation yielded suspected\nconcentrated cannabis, LSD, mushrooms and Marihuana wax. Brown was arraigned in the town of Norwich\ncourt and remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000\nproperty bond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies arrested 26 year old\nAlexander Dietrich of Hawley, Pennsylvania for DWI and Driving with a BAC\ngreater that 0.08%. The arrest occurred during the course of an investigation\nof a reported one car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 17 in the Town of\nHancock. Dietrich was arraigned in the\nTown of Hancock Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional\nFacility on $500 cash bail or $1,000 dollars secured bond pending future court\naction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
