Sidney Village Police responded Friday to a possible burglary in Progress at 21 Division Street at a storage building on that site.\u00a0 Police arrested 42 year old Phillip Wormuth, 21 Year old Cody Bolster & 24 Year old Shyanne Smith, all of Sidney, for 3rd degree Burglary, Petty Larceny & Criminal possession of Stolen property; they were arraigned & sent to the Delaware County Jail on $15,000 Cash Bail or $20,000 Bond pending future court action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NYSEG announced that restoration\nefforts from Sunday’s severe thunderstorms were just about complete, with less\nthan 750 customers without power statewide. Crews and contractors continue to\nwork on restoration efforts and They will continue to work with customers that\nmay be experiencing isolated outages as a result of storm damage to customer\nowned equipment. Another round of severe weather is expected this afternoon and\nevening, and depending on weather situations, NYSEG is using helicopters to\ninspect the transmission system that were impacted by yesterday’s storm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Norwich city police have\narrested 2 people for the beating of a victim on Lackawanna Avenue in Downtown\nNorwich recently.  Police reported that\nthe victim had a skull fracture & was blinded in 1 eye, they arrested 25\nyear old Hannah Bard & Jonathan Booker for assault, the investigation is\ncontinuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delaware County Sheriff\u2019s\nDeputies arrested 34 year old Noel Johnson of Walton Friday for Driving While Intoxicated,\nDriving With a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or greater, Speed in zone 60mph in\na 40mph zone, 91mph in a 55mph zone, Failure to keep right, Unlicensed\noperator, operating without a valid NYS inspection, leaving the scene of a\nproperty damage accident, and visibly distorted windshield. The charges stemmed\nfrom a traffic stop on Johnson\u2019s vehicle on State Highway 10 in the Town of\nHamden, where Deputies determined Johnson was driving while in an intoxicated\ncondition. Johnson was released on appearance tickets and is set to appear in\nthe Town of Hamden Court at a later date to answer the charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo today launched a\nstatewide survey to select New York State’s new license plate design. The\nvoting which opened today at now.ny.gov runs through Monday, September 2nd and\nwill allow New Yorkers to choose their favorite among the five proposed\ndesigns. Voting will also be available to the public at the Governor’s exhibit\nat the Great New York State Fair starting August 21st. the winning plate design\nwill be available starting in April 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police are investigating a\nshooting early this morning in the parking lot of an apartment house on Shaffer\nRoad in the town of Newfield.  Troopers\ndiscovered that a male subject was transported to any area hospital for a\ngunshot wound to his back; Police are looking for a dark colored SUV traveling\nsouth, Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police at 347-4440.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State Police arrested 44 year old Stephanie Valk of Laurens\nfor Aggravated Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed\nOperation and Operating a Vehicle without Ignition Interlock Device, among\nseveral other charges.  Troopers observed\nValk driving on the shoulder of State Highway 23 in the town of Oneonta.  Valk was arraigned in the town of Oneonta\ncourt; she was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000\nproperty bond.  She\u2019s scheduled to return\nto court on September 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
