State Police responded to Town Brook Road at Red Rock Road\nin the town of Stamford to a report of a propane truck in a ditch and on its\npassenger side.  An investigation\nrevealed that for an unknown reason, possibly medically related, 62 year old\nEdward Walley of Delhi drove off the roadway, into a ditch and struck a utility\npole before rolling to its passenger side. \nWalley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.   An autopsy is scheduled for later today, the\ninvestigation is continuing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Otsego County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 2 people on a\nvariety of drug charges after a search warrant was executed in the town of\nWorcester.  Deputies arrested 30 year old\nJesse Wilson & 29 year old Samone Van Buren, they seized crack cocaine,\nsuboxone, marijuana, $2,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia,   and Wilson and VanBuren were arraigned in\nthe Town of Worcester Court and sent to the Otsego County Jail on $25,000 cash\nor $50,000 bond pending court action on September 3rd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Cooperstown teacher Justin Hobbie pleaded guilty to 3\ncounts of sexual exploitation of a child. \nHobbie was accused of persuading girls under the age of 16 of sending\nhim explicit videos.  Hobbie will be\nsentenced in December he will likely serve jail time & will be required to\nregister as a sex offender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Cuomo signed legislation strengthening protections\nfor minors against felony sex offenders. The law prevents minors from being\nplaced in the custody of an individual who has been convicted of rape in the\nfirst or second degree, sexual conduct against a child in the first degree or\npredatory sexual assault against a child, it also prevents sex offenders from\nhaving unsupervised visits with a person who has been convicted of a felony\nsexual offense against the subject of the visitation order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York state farms generated $5.7 billion in revenue in\n2017, according to a report released today by State Comptroller Tom\nDiNapoli.  New York has 33,400 farms,\nemploys more than 55,000, farmland covers 23% of the state’s total land area,   New York ranks second nationwide for the\nproduction of apples and maple syrup, ranks third for grapes and eleventh for\nbeer.  New York is the third largest\nproducer of wine, with its wineries producing nearly 32 million gallons in\n2017. Fox Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Crime Victims Assistance\nProgram Chenango Child Advocacy Center & the Valleyview Elementary School\n$984 for a kindergarten alternative seating program helping students with\nspecial needs maintain focus in the classroom<\/p>\n\n\n\n
