State Police issued 9,912 tickets statewide during the Labor Day weekend enforcement campaign. Troopers arrested 225 people for DWI, over 3500 for speeding, 311 for distracted driving 211 violated the Move Over Law, in Troop C, there were 17 DWI arrests, 346 for speeding& 27 for the Move Over Law, out of a total of 845 tickets issued.

Thursday is the 24th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania, US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is calling for full funding for the health Issues of the 1st Responders to that disaster, instead of cuts or limited funding:

Gillibrand said that in the past 14 years, the federal budget would include 1 or 2 billion dollars for that fund for 9/11 1st responders, but that amount has never been enough to cover the costs.

The SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association invites the public to attend the 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the 9/11 Memorial in the quad outside of Fitzelle Hall at SUNY Oneonta. The ceremony will feature an Honor Guard, a presentation of flowers and a wreath, and music.

State Police and State Park Police are conducting a joint search operation in Buttermilk Falls State Park for an individual experiencing a mental health crisis. Authorities want to assure the public that there is no danger to the community. The search efforts are being assisted by New York State Forest Rangers, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, Volunteer search groups, K9 units, and drones. The State Police asks for the public’s cooperation as they work to locate and assist the individual in need.
