50 year old Paul Graham of Binghamton, was sentenced following his conviction for Assault, & Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Graham was sentenced in Broome County Court to a term of 12½ years in State Prison with 5 years of post-release supervision. The conviction stems from an incident on January 4, 2025, when officers with the Binghamton Police Department responded to a disturbance, they found a male victim suffering from a puncture wound to his chest. The victim was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center, requiring emergency heart surgery to survive the life threatening injury.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33 year old John Rundblad Jr., of Fort Plain, for Burglary, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Contempt, Menacing & Endangering the Welfare of a Child, following an investigation into a domestic dispute in the Village of Cooperstown. Deputies were dispatched to a report that a male subject had entered the residence unlawfully, displayed a knife and violated a valid order of protection, in presence of 2 children. Rundblad was located nearby and was taken into custody without incident, he was processed and turned over to Otsego County Corrections pending Centralized Arraignment.

38 year old Gregory Rivenburg of Vestal, pleaded guilty in Broome County Court to a felony Assault charge Rivenburg attempted to stab a victim on January 9, 2025, lost control of the knife, but then beat & choked the victim, Rivenburg was scheduled to begin trial but instead entered a guilty plea, the conviction will result in a 6 Year State Prison Sentence followed by 5 Years of Post Release Supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for June 12, 2026, in Broome County Court.

The Chenango County Historical Society will seek more community input at a meeting tonight in Norwich, regarding this summer’s “Turtle Island” festival, Society Executive Director Jessica Moquin comments:

The meeting will be held tonight from 6–7:30 pm tonight at the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus, located at 20 Conkey Ave. The day-long festival is scheduled for July 5.
