The manslaughter trial of former Marcy corrections officer Michael Fisher, ended today in Oneida County Court as Fisher has pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree reckless endangerment. Fisher was one of the corrections officers at Marcy Correctional facility accused in the death of inmate Robert Brook in December of 2024. Fisher faces sentencing on January 30th, where he is expected to receive a 6-month term in Oneida County Jail as part of the plea agreement.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50 year old Lamark Logan of Ellenville in the Town of Colchester. Logan claimed to be an police officer with the Ellenville Police Department, Deputies found that it was a false claim, Logan was charged with criminal impersonation along with several traffic violations and he was released on an appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37 year old Thomas Brown of Norwich after Deputies responded to a business in the Town of Norwich for a larceny complaint. Brown allegedly stole items from the business and he had previously been trespassed from the business in the past, he also was found to be in possession of a controlled substance at the time of his arrest. Brown was charged with Burglary & Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance & was arraigned & he was released on his own recognizance.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39 year old Ian Quinn of Norwich Wednesday for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, following an investigation into a burglary Tuesday in the Town of Norwich. Quinn is accused of unlawfully entering the victim’s dwelling and stealing property, Quinn was arrested and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Chenango County Court.

A Broome County Jury found 40 year old Tara Humphry of Great Bend, Pennsylvania, guilty of 1st Degree Assault from an incident on September 27, 2024, in Binghamton, where Humphry intentionally struck a male victim with her vehicle, causing serious physical injury. Humphry was remanded to the Broome County Jail. She is scheduled to return to court on April 15, 2026, for sentencing, she faces a potential sentence ranging from 5 to 25 years in state prison.

State Police responded Thursday Afternoon at about 2:20 PM, to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on I-81 southbound, in the town of LaFayette. The preliminary investigation has determined that the primary crash involved approximately 18 vehicles, including three tractor-trailers. There were also a number of smaller crashes. It is estimated that a total of approximately 30 vehicles were involved in the crash, which is believed to be weather-related. 8 patients were transported to area Hospitals, 2 have serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
