The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42 year old Justin Thompson of Pennsylvania as a fugitive from justice. Chenango County Sheriff detectives were advised Wednesday that Thompson was considered armed and dangerous, & he might be in the Town of Greene. Members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and State Police responded to a residence in the Town of Greene, they found Thompson hiding in a motor home on the property. He was arrested without incident and arraigned in Chenango County Court on a Fugitive from Justice warrant. Thompson was ordered to be held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility until extradited to the State of Pennsylvania.

24 year old Xavier Tappan-Bright of Binghamton, plead guilty today to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in Broome County Court. Tappan-Bright, is a 2nd time Violent Felony Offender, will be sentenced to 8 years in State Prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision when Sentenced on August 28. In January, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a Search Warrant in Binghamton, they seized a loaded .38 caliber pistol, containing 6 rounds in the magazine.

33-year-old Amber Tolbert of Maryland was arrested on drug charges following an investigation by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office. Tolbert was charged with 2 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, on May 11th, she was found to be in possession of multiple controlled substances, she was turned over to Otsego County Corrections pending arraignment at Maryland Town Court.

State Labor Department announced an increase of 14,400, private sector jobs in April, the state was up to 8.47 million private sector jobs, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held constant at 4.2% and the state labor force participation rate increased to 61.0% in April 2025.

Hartwick College will confer degrees to 225 students at 10:00 AM Saturday on Elmore Field. The 93rd commencement ceremony will be webcast live on their Commencement webpage, it will also be webcast on the College’s YouTube Channel. Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling along State Highway 28 in the Town of Andes and observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. 36-year-old Natasha Reed of Delhi was charged with Reckless Driving and issued a traffic summons for speeding, at approximately 94 miles an hour in a 55 zone. Reed was issued appearance tickets and released to appear at the Town of Andes Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Another recall due to listeria has been reported at Price Chopper, Market 32 and Big Y stores. The impacted products are select Market 32 by Price Chopper brand pre-made 10oz chicken wraps, sold in deli and food fare sections of the stores. Chicken Caesar, Buffalo Chicken, or Chicken Bacon Ranch wraps were affected, customers should throw out the wraps or return them for a full refund, so far, no Illnesses Reported Yet from This Recall.
