30 year old Antonio Almovodar of Hastings, pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Burglary in Delaware County Court, he was sentenced to 5 years in state prison, to be followed by 3 years of post-release supervision. On April 17, 2024, Troopers responded to a burglary in the Town of Sidney, it was determined that Antonio Almovodar and another individual had committed the burglary. Almovodar appeared in court earlier this week, he was also ordered to pay $70,000 in restitution and the court issued a full stay away order of protection for the victim.

A Delaware County Grand Jury returned a 5-count indictment against 45 year old Brian Shear of Colchester, on numerous drug charges for possessing and selling narcotics, including fentanyl, methamphetamines & cocaine. Shear will be arraigned on the indictment shortly followed by court action on the charges.

The National Weather Service has a “FLOOD WATCH” in effect through tomorrow morning, local meteorologist Rich Townsend comments:

The Annual Ed Wessels Canoe regatta scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled, organizer Ed Curley explains;

Long time General Clinton Canoe Regatta Paddler Dale Persons is one of the inductees into this year’s Hall of Fame, he talked about winning the honor to WCDO Sports Director Nate Lull:

Dale has 31 70-mile finishes, 3 70-mile wins, and a career best 5th place Pro finish, he is a two-time national champion with wins in 1994 and 1995 alongside Hall of Famer Bob Zaveral. He also has been active in the race committee and has announced many awards and races in the past. Person will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Nate Lull Podcast to be released later this month.

Due to inclement weather in the forecast, tonight’s Binghamton Rumble Ponies game against the Reading Fightin Phils at Mirabito Stadium has been canceled. It will not be rescheduled. Fans can exchange their tickets to Friday’s game for any remaining Rumble Ponies home game this season.
