State Police and local law enforcement will be out in force through Labor Day weekend as part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign to prevent impaired driving. The enforcement period runs through Labor Day, September 1st, last year, State police issued 47,173 total tickets and arrested 632 individuals for DWI.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Homeowners, renters and business owners are now eligible to apply for U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest loans to aid in recovery from the Storm Damage on June 22, in Madison, Chenango and Otsego Counties locally. Homeowners can receive up to $500,000 to repair their primary residence, Homeowners and renters can get up to $100,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property, Businesses and non-profits can get up to $2,000,000 for the replacement of real property, inventories, machinery, equipment, for more information, or to apply online at sba.gov, or call the SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955.

The Butternut Valley Alliance Summer Harvest Festival & Gravel Grinder will take place on Saturday, at Butternuts Beer & Ale, 4021 State Highway 51, Garrettsville, with a host of activities according to organizer Peter Martin:
