The Gus Macker Tournament returns to the Streets of Norwich in July, and the deadline is fast approaching for teams to sign up, according to organizer Tom Revoir:

31 year old Dustin Cole of Rotterdam pleaded guilty in Delaware County Court to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell, and was sentenced to 4 years in state prison and 2 years of post-release supervision. On February 28, 2025, Cole was stopped by a State Trooper in Stamford, Cole failed Field Sobriety Tests. Police found Cocaine, a digital scale and several empty glassine envelopes, plus $2,141.00 in cash, Cole was sentenced to four years of incarceration and two years of post-release supervision, he was also ordered to forfeit the $2,141.00 to the District Attorney’s office. This money will now be used to fund additional drug investigations.

58 year old Christopher Dickinson was charged with Criminal Mischief & Assaulting a peace officer after attacking a Corrections Sergeant during intake procedures at the Broome County Correctional Facility Sunday morning. Dickinson was brought to the Broome County Correctional Facility by Johnson City Police for a Criminal Mischief charge, he is accused of striking a female Corrections Sergeant in the face, she sustained a broken nose & was treated at UHS Wilson Hospital, Dickinson was arraigned and remanded to the Broome County Correctional Facility.

36 year old Matthew Baird of Columbus, pleaded guilty in Chenango County Court to 1st-degree rape, for raping a child less than 11 years old. Baird was sentenced to 16 years in state prison, with 20 years post-release supervision.

Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Arrested 31 year old Abdi Ali of Norwich for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of Address Change. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office received information that Ali, who is a level two sex offender and was last registered to an address in the City of Syracuse, moved to the Town of Norwich and failed to notify Law Enforcement of his address change within ten days. Ali was taken into custody without incident and was arraigned & was remanded to the Chenango County Jail, The Sheriff’s Office was then notified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that Ali is a person of interest with their agency, he was turned over to U.S. Immigration.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34 year old Keith Echiverri Jr., of Hawaii for DWI, Refusal to take breath test, Speed not Reasonable and Prudent, Moving From a Lane Unsafely, Failure to Keep Right and Open container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle, following an investigation into a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Otsego. Echiverri struck a guard rail and utility pole on State Highway 80, he was found be intoxicated by alcohol and arrested, processed and released with Appearance Tickets and is set to appear in court at a later date.

Otsego County Sheriff’s Office arrested 48 year old Paula Carbonara of Worcester, for Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Contempt, and Harassment, following a burglary in progress complaint in the Town of Worcester. Deputies were dispatched to a residence after receiving reports that a female subject was trying to gain entry, deputies found that the female had made entry into the residence but fled on foot, Carbonara was located and taken into custody& was held for Arraignment.
