Sidney Village Police responded Monday to a report of a domestic dispute at 21 Manatee Avenue, as officers arrived, 29 year old Laurent Paul of Sidney fled the scene in a vehicle, Officers learned that Paul encountered Sullivan County Law enforcement on State Route 17 and fled back to Delaware County, Sidney Officers observed Paul on State Route 8 towards the Village, driving erratically & at a high rate of speed, he stopped at the Manatee Ave address, attempted to flee on foot, sprayed mace at officers, who employed a taser and took him into custody. Paul was charged with Endangering the welfare of a child, 2 counts of Obstruction of governmental administration, Criminal mischief, Attempted Assault, Resisting arrest & Reckless driving, among other charges, he was arraigned and remanded to the Delaware County jail on $5000 bail.

The Warren Eaton Airport in Norwich will begin much needed construction next year, after receiving significant Grant money, Chenango County Planning Department Director Shane Butler explains:

Otsego County School District will once again participate in the Plastic Film Recycling challenge, to get plastics like grocery bags, bread bags & bubble wrap out of the waste stream, Kyle King of the Otsego County Solid waste Department explains:

King said that in recent years, the challenge has successfully recycled between 3 1/2 to 6 tons of the plastic film, from students at Otsego County Schools.

Hartwick College announced that they Reached a $50 Million Campaign Goal, which was announced at their True Blue Weekend kickoff Friday, according to spokesman Eric Malanoski:

The Campaign had 5 basic pillars, which includes Investing in scholarships and initiatives that ensure talented students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to thrive at Hartwick, to build the structure and support systems for students, to help with Funding new curriculum and Strengthen initiatives in civic engagement.

Delaware County Department of Public Works will be closing County Route 18 in the Village and Town of Delhi to through traffic from 7 am. until 3:30 pm. today, tomorrow, to allow crews to replace a cross pipe. The road will be open by the end of each day.
