With the federal government shutdown, New Yorkers are wondering how the stoppage in Washington will affect the state’s residents.  Area assemblyman Pete Lopez comments:

Lopez said that one of the main concerns locally is for the dairy industry, as safe guards against low milk prices for milk producers are not in affect until the federal government reconvenes.

Bainbridge Rotary will host the 1st Rotary Fall Festival & Pie Run at General Clinton Park Saturday.  Festivities will begin at 10 am with a 5K Pie Run/Walk, other features include a Tug-O-War competition, on-site Chili Cook-Off, an antique “slowest” tractor race, plus children’s games, a bounce house, scavenger hunt, face painting and hay rides. The event is free to enter; there will be food concessions at modest prices.

The 21st annual America Cancer Society’s Harvest Festival is tomorrow at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Walton, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  there will be crafts and other vendors, a wide variety of food, live music, and lots of free activities.   All proceeds from this event benefit the American Cancer Society programs, there is a $2.00 admission fee for the event, children 12 and under are free,  more information is available at 865-4990; or on Facebook at “Annual Harvest Festival-American Cancer Society”.
