The annual Tri Town Relay for Life event gets underway tonight through tomorrow morning at general Clinton park in Bainbridge.  American cancer society spokesperson Helen Gregory invites the public to see what the event is all about:

The event annually raises about $100,000 dollars for cancer research & programs, WCDO Will broadcast at the beginning of the Relay For Life this evening.

The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 21-year-old Gregg Goodrich of Greene for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving with a Blood Alcohol level greater than .08%.  Deputies responded following a report from a civilian of an intoxicated driver.  Goodrich was issued appearance tickets for the Town of Greene Court at a later date.

Motorists are advised that State Route 17 eastbound between exit 71 Airport Road and exit 72 Front Street will be reduced from 3 lanes to 1 lane to allow for placement of concrete barrier.  This work will be performed today between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Delaware County Sheriff Deputy’s arrested 23-year-old Justin Bolivar of Walton on a Bench Warrant issued by Town of Colchester Court, for failure to pay fine.  Bolivar was arraigned & was remanded to the Delaware County Correction Facility in lieu of $205 fine and surcharge is paid or he will be returned to the Court on May 7th.

Sidney village officials announced that today & tomorrow, old appliances, metal or tires might be dropped off at the village garage at 28 Sherman Avenue.  The event runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, items accepted will be computer items, fax machines, cell phones, microwaves, gaming systems, clean metal, tires, and appliances.
