The Sidney Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Dinner and Celebration this evening at the Sidney Elks Lodge on River Street. The Chamber has chosen Father Gordon Polenz as the “Citizen of the Years”, he commented about his years in Sidney:

Governor Cuomo announced that New York State will begin a statewide multi-media campaign using billboards, radio, television and social media to remind motorists about the deadly impacts of impaired driving. 78 campaign billboards with a message that reads ‘Impaired Drivers Take Lives. Think’ will now appear across the state. The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) also produced a 30-second public service announcement as part of the campaign. Former Tri-Town News Publisher Ken Paden passed away on Monday, May 25th. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, at 1:00 PM at the American Legion at 22 Union Street, Sidney. A memorial donation may be made to Ken’s family toward a plaque in his name at the Sidney Veterans Memorial Park care of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel at P.O. Box 2086, Sidney. Any excess donations will go to the Delaware Valley Humane Society. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.

On Saturday, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, Scoville-Meno Chrysler- Dodge-Jeep will partner with parents and teachers at parking lot of Unadilla Elementary located at 265 Main Street for a “Drive for the Kids®” fundraiser to help raise money during the Playground Celebration. Parents and guests will have the opportunity to earn a $10 contribution for the school from the Chrysler brand, by taking a test drive in a new Chrysler product, All test-drive participants will also be entered into the 2015 National Giveaway for a chance to win $45,000 toward any eligible Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram, FIAT, or Alfa Romeo vehicle.
