Governor Cuomo announced that $1.3 million dollars will be provided by FEMA to support the elevation of 13 residential properties in the Village of Greene, that were damaged in 2011 during Tropical Storm Lee. (HMGP), the properties were deemed eligible due to the continuing risk of future flooding in the area, & the project will be Funded through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

State DOT officials announced that today through Monday, the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally would cause delays to traffic on U.S. Route 11 near Otsiningo Park.  In order to accommodate the festival traffic, the on ramp to Interstate 81 northbound from U.S. Route 11 at Interchange 5 will be closed from 12:00 noon today to 11:00 AM Monday, A signed detour will be in place to direct local traffic around the closure.  Up-to-date travel information is available by calling 511 or visiting www.511NY.org, or by following the DOT on Twitter: @NYSDOT.

The Delaware County Historical Association will open a new exhibit today entitled “City Meets Country” which features the photography of Sidney native Beth Brown. “City Meets Country” will be on display in the Elijah Thomas Gallery on state route 10 in Delhi until September 5th.
