State Police conducted an underage drinker initiative detail across Chenango County Last Thursday that resulted in two arrests for the underage sale of alcohol.   Employees at USA Gas Mini Mart on Route 12 in Greene and Kwik Fill on Route 12 in Norwich were arrested for the unlawful sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 21.  Charged were 48-year-old Rajesh Gupta in Greene and 22-year-old Corbyn Thompson, in Norwich.

State police will remain out in full force for New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day holidays.  Troopers will be looking for drunk & aggressive drivers, drivers using electronic equipment & they will be looking for 100% seat belt compliance.

New Yorkers will get to meet Governor Andrew Cuomo at the Executive Mansion tomorrow.  All adults over the age of 16 must have a ticket, which were available online thorough the governor’s website through last week.  Individuals with a ticket can bring one guest and any minor children from their household.

Another big turnout is anticipated for the First Night Oneonta celebrations today.  Events will run from 4:00 to 10:00 pm, starting with the annual parade along Main Street, 25 area musical & entertainment acts will participate in festivities in 14 city locations throughout the rest of the day.  The full schedule is available at firstnightoneonta.com.
