A Broome County jury found Joseph Ross-Jones not guilty in connection with the death of 27-year-old Daniel Martinez.  Ross-Jones was accused of killing Martinez after a drug deal went bad.  Martinez was found by hunters in a wooded area of the town of Chenango on October of 2011.

The State DOT announced that crews would be removing work zone signs today on Interstate 81 between exits 3 & 4 & near exit 5 in the City of Binghamton.  The work will begin at 9:00 AM & should be completed 12:00 Noon.  Officials said that traffic will be reduced to one lane in those areas this morning.

The Chenango county sheriff’s department arrested 24 year old Joseph Santiago of Burlington Flats for an active Family Court Warrant.  Santiago was arrested for allegedly failing to pay child support, he was remanded to Chenango County Jail to commence 30 day sentence or pay $350 purge.
