Governor Cuomo and legislative leaders announced an agreement last night on the budget for 2013-2014 that closes a $1.3 billion deficit, & cuts taxes for middle class families and small businesses.  The budget has initial funding for 10 high-tech Innovation Hot Spots across the state to incubate businesses, workforce training program to link our SUNY and CUNY community colleges with employers & calls for a 3rd round of the Regional Economic Development Councils.  The budget also includes funding for full-day pre-k programs, Increased standards for teacher certification and rewards for high-performing teachers, and it raises the minimum wage to $9 over the next 3 years.

The Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 19-year-old Tomas Gager & 20-year-old Derek Gager of Sherburne for 2nd degree Criminal Nuisance.  Police responded to the report of an underage drinking party in the Town of Sherburne, the Gager’s were arrested for maintaining a location for underage drinking and the use of marihuana, they face court action shortly.

Chenango county sheriffs department arrested 29 year old Danielle Parker of New Berlin was arrested for petty larceny, for allegedly taking merchandise and not paying for the merchandise, while employed at the business in New Berlin.  Parker was processed and released on an appearance ticket to appear at a later date in the Town of New Berlin Court.

The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School will hold a Board of Education Meeting today in Guilford Cafeteria to discuss district business. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM with committee meetings, the business portion will start at 7:30 PM.
